Botany is simply known as the study of plants; it is so incredibly important because plants are the basis of all life on Earth. Career fields should be looked into pertaining this situation and I believe more opportunities should be opened and ideas shouldn’t be over seen. Medically people should broaden their horizons when it comes to medical research and realistically doctors should give more options then pharmaceuticals, chosen according to money in their pocket.
Plants seem simple, but scientifically speaking there are so many species and types of plants that this life form is far more complex then we give it credit for. There are spore-bearing plants and seed-bearing plants.
Of course spore-bearing plants form by means of spores; the spores are formed inside something called sporangia and look like fine-grained, subtle powder. Each spore contains its own small quantity of genetic matter in a sort of compact sheath.
It comes as no surprise that seed-bearing plants reproduce by means of seeds. Each seed has an embryo and a food supply, all enclosed by a seed covering. Then a germinating seed is nourished by the food supply until it begins to make its own food.
Another way to tell the type of plant is the absence or presence of vascular tissue. Vascular tissue transports nutrients and water through the plant. Gymnosperms and angiosperms both have vascular tissue, as well as spore-bearing ferns. Vascular plants are called tracheophytes and non-vascular
plants are bryophytes.
Algae is a spore-bearing plant; no leaves, stems, or
roots; usually tiny, single-celled plants. Mosses, also containing spore-bearing life forms have simple stems and slender leaves. Ferns are the superior spore-bearing plant; one of the only spore bearing plants that are also vascular. There are over 15,000 species of fern in existence.
Now when it comes to seed-bearing plants they are divided between gymnosperms and angiosperms as well, Gymnosperms otherwise known as conifers are plants that grow cones instead of flowers. The seed grows in the female cones, and develop
scales inside the cones.
Angiosperms or most commonly remembered as flowering plants, have varied land vegetation. There are at the very least 250,000 kinds of flowering plants. The flower fertilizes the ovule and that results in the growth of fruit, which contains seeds. Angiosperms (flowering plants) either have one or two cotyledons; monocotyledons could be interpreted as (one seed leaf) and have floral parts in multiples of three. Dicotyledons could be understood as (two seed leaves), and have floral parts in multiples of four and five. That is the simplified explanation for plants in general.
The following way would be called scientific classification or taxonomy. (Kingdom-Plantae, Division- seed
plants, Class-flowering plants, Subclass-monocots, Order-Graminales, Family- Graminae (grasses) Species-Wheat, rye, barley). Both the simplified version and the scientific version are explaining the same thing differently; though the scientific version is more specifically pertaining to one species of
plant rather than plants in general.
It isn't known well enough that plants can replace many chemical drugs/narcotics. Look at it this way everything started from a plant basis though there may be chemicals in the plant they are natural and we have used them sense the beginning of time.
However, chemical narcotics usually given to
you by doctors are man-made or factory made chemicals, pain killers/ narcotics always have side effects, and are always potentially fatal. Much pharmaceutical medication is overtaken and usually unneeded. Naturally the Earth came with many
resources such as vitamins, minerals, and herbs. The result is money in doctor and pharmaceutical companies’ pockets and
millions to billions of people consuming excessive amounts of over-produced chemical tablets.
This portion of my botany explanation will be used to identify examples of herbs and plants that could and should replace all the addictive chemicals without all the harmful side effects, that also come with the pharmaceutical drugs. For example, say you go into the doctor for something as minuscule as a bladder infection; the doctor is by no means going to say drink a bunch of water and try some cranberry tablets. He/she is going to prescribe antibiotics (which are needed in severe cases, but not every time.)
Eventually your body will grow a tolerance to these antibiotics and they won't work for anything even in a severe or major emergency. Where as in all reality in order for your bladder to function properly you need to be hydrated with the proper amount of fluids, such as the necessity for life and the key to kidney function, water. Also cranberry will immediately boost your
immunity as well as clear out infection restoring your body and producing a healthy bladder.
Another example on the larger scale of things would be the fact
that doctors are basically allowed to prescribe synthetic heroine for pain. In reality this is the legal government controlled way of making money from the sale of un-needed, destructive, negative impact drugs. People all around the United States go into the doctor with back pain, liver pain, gallbladder problems, heart problems, pancreatitis, cancer, headaches, nausea, the list could literally be miles long of problems, symptoms,
and illnesses people have or think they have.
Say you go to the doctor with back pain; your back muscles and your bones are weak, they are turning soft, so the
doctor professionally diagnoses you with fibromyalgia and prescribes you Lyrica. You take the Lyrica regularly, every day as instructed. This putting you in a daze everyday, stopping you from enjoying life and restraining you from engaging in activities that you not only want, but also need to engage in for your own livelihood. Then as time takes its course your back only gets more fragile and brittle because your body hasn’t received the proper exercise and care to rebuild any muscle or bone mass. As the condition worsens so does the pain as the effect of the pill now lessons causes you to either take more or to take a higher milligram.
Eventually your liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and central
nervous system can’t function properly because your body cn no longer break down the toxicity of the chemicals that are stored in the Lyrica. As with the toxins in alcohol; soon enough it causes your gallbladder to fill with gallstones, your kidneys will clog up, shut down, or completely fail, and the chances of your pancreas making it through such horrible toxins that your kidneys couldn’t handle it without gaining pancreatitis are close to impossible. All of this a vicious cycle from masking pain with pills instead of actually fixing the underlying problem; Rather then fixing the back problem the Lyrica caused the nervous system to mask the pain and not only cause more back problems but also add internal problems that are difficult or next to impossible to fix completely. The seriously sad part about it is none of that even contains the added side effects of the Lyrica!
All chronic pain relievers and most muscle relaxers similar to Lyrica don’t take very much time before they begin the process of eating away at your body and decreasing needed brain activity.
The doctor should have tried to fix or mend the fibromyalgia through the use of much needed body stretches, and magnesium to ensure no more damage or loss would be done to bone or muscle mass and structure. These come with little to no side effects and will heal the problem rather then mask the pain caused from the actual injury. Honestly, the whole reason most people end up with
fibromyalgia in the first place is because of a magnesium deficiency that can damage muscles and nerves. Also obviously as muscles and bones become more brittle eventually nerve damage will inevitably be caused. Therefore, in all actuality you can prevent fibromyalgia as well as cure it from correct exercise and care of your body and the powerful addition of having enough magnesium; causing you to have less pain and it’s not just a mind trick it’s actually healing the problem making pain free an everyday
advantage for you. This is just one example of an illness or medical condition that can be more safely and accurately cured by medical science, or through the use of botany.
Botany is such an important field for more reasons than one. To start it’s a needed basis of all life on Earth! For two, nearly everything chemically induced could be made from plants. When you consider the statistics of plant based medicines compared to chemical based medicines the absolute need for change and transition is apparent. About 61% of American adults use at least one pharmaceutical, chemically engineered drug to treat some kind of chronic pain or chronic health problem. That’s 15% more than in 2001, and over half of all U.S adults. At least 51% of these people’s health problems are most likely pain covered and tolerated; whereas, if doctors were to use botany and science these people could actually be cured! Rather than that doctors choose to prescribe their patients with pharmaceuticals that block the nerves from feeling pain. Also 49% of the 61% of pharmaceutical users in the U.S claim that the medicine doesn’t even work. And most of the 61% truly get worse from all of the toxins in the chemicals; yet they continue to consume government controlled drugs out of mere addiction.
I know from the experiences of others around me that a lot
of times doctors prescribe a different pharmaceutical for each different health problem without even taking the needed time to see if these prescriptions can be taken together. I literally know people
that have died and people that have come far too close to death because their doctor prescribed them the wrong mixture of pills. Many need to understand the fact that some chemicals cannot be mixed together. Also human bodies are very
resilient and our brains are extremely powerful; but once so many chemical toxins are ingested livers, pancreases, kidneys, nervous systems, and brains only filter so much through before they shut down.
There are other options for more than most of these chronic problems and doctors simply choose pharmaceuticals by means of money; not by means of logic, science, common sense,
or care for their patients. More than half of adult humans in the United States are turning into the “quote”, on “quote” zombie; not functioning properly in their daily life, losing their personality and ability to make decisions, loss of appetite, and worsening symptoms. This is okay for everyone because the
addiction is government controlled. In my opinion at the very absolute least they wouldn’t let children grow up with and be raised by helpless human figures that can barely even take care of themselves. Factually this isn’t logically or morally correct by any means.
We have diabetes medicine causing heart attacks,
skin medicine causing brain tumors, anti-depressants causing suicide, blood thinners being used on people who also have ulcers; where is the logic in any of this, it’s just simply not present!
Side effects from any pharmaceutical are all a long list of extremely dangerous illness’s and problems. Now consider that herbal medicines have little to no side-effects. If they do have side-effects the severity level is about as dangerous as a minor
rash and possible drowsiness.
The FDA (federal drug administration) allows many of these pharmaceuticals to pass as long as the consumer of the medicine had the chance to be aware of the side-effects. Then in five years or less you see a commercial saying not to take this drug it’s deathly poison and has been taken off the market; well it was deathly in the first place and would still be sellable if to many people hadn’t have died. It’s ridiculous and unneeded! The
utter severity of this problem is bizarre and absurd considering how easily it could be solved.
Think of it this way over 100,000 Americans die each year from
prescription medicine while pharmaceutical companies and doctors make numerous amounts of cash money. That’s one person every five minutes!!! The statistics are shockingly loathsome and repulsive. Changes seriously need to be made. That’s why botany is such an important field; this is the reason I plan
to make major transitions in the medical world; chemical to herbal, zombie to healthy, ill to cure. How it’s supposed to be before we got greedy and went down the wrong road then got lost.
Human bodies should be treated with the natural
stuff they crave, need and are supposed to have, not filled with chemicals that the body wants to reject. A lot of the problem comes from media exaggerating the benefits and glossing over the risks. It’s true sadness that doctors, chemists, and pharmacies make more money killing people with chemicals then they do finding
actual cure’s and researching actual solutions for the issues they face.
Doctors try to treat everything with a
pill even minor rashes and facial hair; it’s reached and far beyond the point of stupidity! Botany needs to be more recognized because these are only very few of the actual statistics and issues. The botany field should be funded instead of poisons, toxins, and chemicals.
Obviously my goal is to pursue a career in the field of botany; but another love of mine in photography, therefore, I am working on combining the two. As I have explained I want to use botany in such way as medicine, general health, cosmetics, fragrances, lotions, massage oils, bug spray and much more!
But I also want to create a book in which is all about plants and I will go into more detail about the book later. Point being I can take photographs of all the plants I want to study/explain and connect the photos with the plants; another way is making posters or ads. I am hoping to someday open a store containing much of my photography and plant research. In doing this I can gladly develop a career in both fields.
I can make easy to understand diagrams for younger school children and teachers; or more difficult diagram using scientific jargon. An example for a poster would be…
Although I have explained throughout this exposition the many uses for botany that I would like to explore it isn’t connected to sound full- proof. So I’m going to clarify my plan in which starts with receiving my required collage credit. After I have succeeded in in gaining the proper collage experience I plan to begin my career with a book about plants scientifically and
understandably. Basically I will have different habitats and places around the world where I will choose many important plants and explain their scientific classification, what you can use them for, where they grow (habitat), niche, what you can make from the plant, and other useful facts.
An example of a page in this book would be something along the lines of this (obviously the image would normally be my own, but I had to use a Google image for the time being)…
(THE BOOK PAGE WILL NOT SAVE TO HERE TO VEIW EMAIL ([email protected]) and right book page, sorry for the inconvenience.)
Next, I plan to hopefully open a store containing my photography as well as my book, and also any products or medicine possible made from numerous types of plants. Product examples would consist of, medicine for sleeping, depression, headaches, common colds, flu’s, skin problems, urinary issues, colon problems, liver, kidney, pancreas problems, back issues, fibromyalgia, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, eating disorders, heart
disease, oral health problems, hyper tension, vitamin deficiencies and other mild- chronic conditions. Other products not necessarily on the medicine side of things would be, hair products, lotions, body washes, cleansers, moisturizers, face washes, pain relief crème, make-up, chap stick, shampoo& conditioner, medical crèmes, nail& hair growth capsules, bug spray, massage & many other oils, candles, and other ideas will later arise I’m sure of it.
Now, the big picture of this whole botany field is to open people eyes to their options, and slowly transform chemical products, into natural herbal ones that produce the same effect minus the side-effects; including help for Americans addictions to their
prescriptions. Other transformations would include preparation for change among doctors, nurses, and other medical staff morally and ethically; hopefully more problems can be solved in the future with use of logic rather than simply dealt with and tolerated.
The reality of a change as drastic as this happening in my future is not exactly a sure deal; but I truly hope to make an environmental, social, and medical difference with use
of botany and science. Though my goal to change the horrifying statistics stated on the pages back is something that will be tragic if change does not fix this problem. At the very least people should be informed fully of all these truths.
Plants being a base of all life on Earth; is one reason that creates a major importance for botany. Also this field is needed and changes should very well be acquired. I truly hope that career fields are opened and people partake in new and improved notions containing knowledge and growth for this concept.
